You can certainly create your own unique patterns for sale, providing that your resources are used within a wider group motif which is repeated to make up your pattern - rather than your graphic being used as-is and then repeated within an individual motif pattern.
For example, if you purchased a graphic of a rose and a butterfly, you would not be able to create a repeating pattern of rose, butterfly, rose, butterfly, and so on.
What you can do, is create a group motif using the rose and butterfly together, along with any other additional elements, such as some leaves, a stem and additional petals. Now that the rose and butterfly are part of a wider, unique design, this can be repeated in a pattern and sold as wallpaper, fabric, clothing and so many other possibilities.
