If you're new to using the Procreate app, you might not know about this super helpful feature! You can insert a reference image into the Procreate canvas you're working on, so you can easily see the reference that you're drawing from.
To help you with this, we have created this handy tutorial video to show you how to add the reference image:
To open your reference image in your Procreate app;
- First, open Procreate on your iPad.
- Then tap the wrench icon in the top left corner of your screen.
- This will bring up the 'Actions' menu, and from there you can tap the 'Canvas' icon.
- Toggle the 'Reference' switch to on, which will open the 'Reference' window.
- Tap the 'Image' option at the bottom of the 'Reference' window.
- Then tap 'Import image' to bring up your files to choose your reference image from.
- When you have found the image you'd like to use as your drawing reference, tap on the image to select it.
- This will add the reference image you chose to the 'Reference' window, where you can then resize it to suit your needs by taping and dragging either of the bottom corners.
- When you're finished using your reference image, you can remove it simply by tapping the 'X' in the top right corner of the 'Reference' window.
